About Us
Our mission is to inform, take action, and ultimately end the overpopulation and mistreatment of dogs in the Houston and Surrounding areas.
Our focus is bringing dogs off the streets, away from unhealthy living situations, and/or out of kill shelters and transporting them to the North East where they get a second shot at life.

Who We Are
We are an all breed, 501c3 non-profit dog rescue that is solely made of volunteers. Our mission is to help neglected and abandoned dogs. Our dogs are placed in loving foster homes in Texas before they are adopted into forever homes in the greater New England area.
What We Do
The purpose of our rescue is to help stray dogs, abandoned dogs and ones from owners who can no longer provide care. We are a foster based rescue and do not have a facility. All our dogs receive medical treatment while in our care. We provide spay and neuter for owned dogs and help educate the community on the importance of spay and neuter.
Meet the Founders
Straight Outta Texas was founded in April 2020. Four friends put their love of dogs and passion for helping the voiceless into creating the rescue. None of the founders are currently on the board of directors. The rescue is run by an all volunteer team of hardworking and compassionate ladies.
